Think I will give up organizing tournaments after CNY seeing that masters and seniors players are such mercenaries.
You all want big money tournaments. Fine.
You all don't want to play in my tournaments because there is no big money. Fine.
Go organize your own tournaments then.

Well, I think you are a bit unfair...
Just because some participants drop out from the CNY tournament because the prize money is low dosen't mean other people don't like your tournaments.
We all love going to your tournaments because of the friendly atmostphere and the sheer fun and thrill of playing scrabble.
Please don't give up.

I have been organizing a lot of tournament to make up for the slack last year. Every tournament is an emotional, financial and time-consuming investment for me.
I don't expect all people to attend my tournament, but if the regulars have made their choice over which tournament to attend, then I will have to make a choice about my future tournament because the same thing can happen to them as to this one.
Better to let the new tournaments take over because I am really tired of organizing tournament for these people already. I cannot organize the tournaments that they want, better not to do anymore of it.

But if you ever organize tournaments (or if there are any tournaments) when I am in Malaysia, I will be sure to go to them...
Will miss your tournaments if you decide not to organize them.
I need some explanations though:
What are mercenaries?
Why have they quit your CNY open?
What do you mean by: the same thing can happen to them as to this one.

Between Mrs Yap and me, they will be plenty of tournament for junior players in the future. Just no more for the Masters
As for the mercenaries, I am talking about people who play for big $$$ and only attend tournaments that offer big $$$. All it takes for my tournament to have a poor turnout is just for someone to organize a tournament with more prize money than mine and on the same dates that I am having mine.
Phew...
